Our Mission (Ár Misean)
The Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) is the oldest and largest Irish Catholic fraternal organization in the United States. Founded in 1836, the AOH was established to protect the clergy and the church property of Irish immigrants, and to aid newly arrived Irish in their time of need. Today, the Colorado AOH proudly carries on this tradition right here in the Rocky Mountains.
We invite all Catholic men of Irish birth or descent to join us as we celebrate our enduring Irish heritage and strengthen our Catholic faith.
Our mission is guided by a commitment to service that transcends individual effort and builds a lasting community. Together, we uphold the sacred motto of the Order by dedicating ourselves to our core principles: Friendship, Unity, and Christian Charity.
Friendship (Cairdeas)

The AOH offers a true and welcoming brotherhood, a Fraternity built on mutual loyalty and support. We provide a space for Catholic men of Irish descent to connect, share experiences, and build lasting friendships. This fellowship transcends generations, creating a strong network that benefits both our members and their families.
Unity (Aontacht)

The Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) defines Unity as the collective strength found in shared heritage and common purpose. This principle fosters a deep bond among members, bridging diverse backgrounds to work as one in the promotion of Irish culture and the defense of the Church. By standing together, the Order ensures that the voice of the Irish Catholic community remains resilient and influential.
Christian Charity (Carthanacht Chríostaí)

In the spirit of Christian compassion and giving, we are committed to Charity. Our divisions are actively involved in community service, fundraising, and providing aid to those in need. We focus on assisting Catholic charities and initiatives within Colorado, ensuring that our collective generosity makes a tangible, local impact.
We welcome everyone of Catholic faith and Irish descent. Whether you were born in County Kildare or adopted into an Irish-American family, you are our brother!
Meet the Divisions
The Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) maintains a strong and active presence across the Denver metro area, organized into three distinct, geographically focused divisions leading vital charitable initiatives, including dedicated community service and outreach programs in downtown Denver. Together, these three divisions ensure that the AOH’s pillars of friendship, unity, and Christian charity thrive throughout the entire Mile High region.
The State Board
At the regional level, the Colorado AOH State Board serves as the unifying governing body that coordinates overarching initiatives and strengthens the bonds between the individual local chapters. Recognizing the growing number of Irish-American families and Catholic men moving to the Rocky Mountain region, the state board is currently spearheading strategic efforts to expand the AOH footprint across Colorado.
By organizing cross-divisional events, strengthening ties with local parishes, and streamlining recruitment outreach, the board aims to establish new divisions outside the Denver area. This focused growth strategy ensures the long-term vitality of traditional Gaelic culture, charitable giving, and fraternal brotherhood throughout the entire state.
