Named in honor of “The Liberator”—the historic Irish statesman who championed Catholic Emancipation and the rule of law—the Daniel O’Connell Legal Fund is the Fr. Carrigan Division’s way of ensuring no one is left wanting for legal defense. Rooted in our foundational motto of Friendship, Unity, and Christian Charity, this vital fund protects our own. It provides prompt, dignified legal grants to Division members in good standing during times of personal need, requiring no intrusive financial vetting. Additionally, it ensures our Division has the resources to secure formal counsel for organizational legal matters, keeping our community protected, resilient, and legally sound.

Every contribution made today acts as a stepping stone toward a much larger vision for our community. The strategic, long-term goal of the Daniel O’Connell Fund is to secure the legal counsel necessary to establish a public-facing 501(c)(3) non-profit arm: The San Patricio Fund. Inspired by the heroic service of the Batallón de San Patricio, this expansion will allow us to extend our mission of charity far beyond our own ranks and into the general public, while finally enabling the Division to issue formal tax-deduction letters to our generous supporters.
